Catalytic converters that is. I just recently bought a catted Bassani X-pipe from one of our members and I noticed part of the honey comb from one of the cats was in the pipe. Doesn't this mean that the cat is no good? Any input would be great! :thumbs_up

Thanks,
Greg

It means the convertor is junk. The car it came off of was probably running to lean and ruined the cat.

Thanks,
I found out the same thing at school today too. I'm going to MATC throught the Ford ASSET program and I asked my teacher.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get that fixed? Or am I better off just buying a new one?

I think Bassani sells just high flow cats. I am sure others do to. You would need to cut the old one out and weld or clamp a new one in. Or you could just gut both cats and worry about emmissons later.

The whole reason I bought the catted x-pipe was to stay emissions legal so gutting the cats would be pointless. I know that is the easiest solution but I don't want to do that.
