Where is the best places to get valve bodies for C4's (reverse manual, woudl like a brake)? Also how much HP can a C4 with preformance clutches handle? How big of a cooler would be needed? And 1 more question, do you have to move the trans crossmember and will my t-5 driveshaft work with it or will I need a new one?

jdsperformance had the best prices on vb's when I bought my brake. Get the biggest cooler you can fit, I don't think you can get one thats too big.

Ain't that the truth

I have burned up far too many not having a big enough cooler.

Coming to the dark side Joel???

Thinking about it, 5-speeds are a pain in the ass at the track, to much to worry about, I would rather ahve an auto with a rev man valvebody and just worry about pulling the stick back when the light comes on, I am sick of missing gears and stuff.

Also what gear would be good for a C4, I have a 3.73 in it now is a 4.xx better?

If you want the best deal with Dynamic they rock. They hook me up best customer service in the buisness, and there valve bodys are second to none. 3.73 should be fine especially if you spray, I switched to a 4.11 with success last year, but I shift around 7200...A 4.11 might work, but if you have 3.73s stay with them and spend money better elsewhere.

Joel,

What gears do you have now? If 3.73 change trannies & see how your rpms are at the top end.

Don't skimp on a valve body. I had an Art Carr piece of **** that made the trans run super hot. If you even thought about driving faster than 35mph the temp would climb to 220 and keep climbing. I tried 3 different coolers and even used 2 together before I figured out that poor fluid flow in the valve body was the problem. A new valve body solved the problem. A C4 can be built to handle alot of horsepower but just a set of performance clutches isn't going to do the job. The best way to go would be to buy a PA or Dynamic trans. That way you know its done right and both companies have some nice warranties. Do yourself a favor ad get a transbrake right away. You will have to modify your crossmember which is no big deal. Cut the welds on the tubes that mount to the car and slide the whole assembly all the way forward on the tubes. Then reweld them. The T5 driveshaft will work.
