Hey guys, where is the best place to get gears installed. Im gonna order them today possibly then i should be able to pay for the install by the end of next month. Im bout 20 mins out of chicago so if theres a place within a hours drive that would be great
I had mine done at Fast Times in West Allis Wisconsin. Just south of Milwaukee.
So did Tim (prored2000)

I went to Rockford Motorsports for mine. They were the cheapest at the time. Not sure on contact info anymore though. My gears have been in for several years with no probs

If you can make the drive, I recommend Fritz from FPS. You can call him at 1-262-689-0943 and he is over in Port Washington, 20min north of Milwaukee city limits. I haven't been to him yet but I know he does excellent work. He did my tranny (T5z) and I don't have one single complaint. I plan on having him rebuild my whole rear end once I can come up with some scrilla :thumbs_up

I just got a qoute on a install and it was a lot more then i want to pay. 432.00 for the install.
It's not just the cost of the install but the experience of the installer & the quality of the job. I would only go somewhere that has been personally recomended.

how many miles are on it? It would be a good idea to replace all the bearings and order a shim kit ect. I would agree $400+ for just hte labor is a joke but if that is with a new master rebuild kit then it's not that bad
email me if you want the name of a few guys that do the work on the side. It will be substantially cheaper than what you were quoted. And more than likely a better job as well.
