I was looking into a 5psi vortech, think 30lb injectors would be enough to feed that?

Depends on how much power you are estimating to put down.
[(estimated HP x .50)/8]/.80 = Injector Size
That's power @ the wheels i believe.

I might have 300hp at the wheels, maybe a little more. Whats the next size up from 30's, 36#?

How do you plan on tunning the car? Chip, PMS, BTM, FMU, etc? I would think 30's with a FMU should be alright or 36's with a chip or aftermarket tuner.

What are future plans for the car? Maybe more boost, heads, etc? You may want to buy a bigger injector than you will need now. When you start changing pullies and such you will find you need a bigger injector than 30's. Take it from me I bought four sets of injectors and lost my azz every time I sold a set. Plus the recal of the mass air meter at $150 a pop. Just something to think about.

For reference, my friend is making 360rwhp on 5psi with a novi 1000 and only using 24lb injectors with an FMU. If it were me, I would just buy 42lb injectors, not use an FMU, and be done with it. :flg: I too went the 24, 30, then 42 injector route. Would have been a lot less hasle to just go right to the 42's. They are cheap again at $260 from diversified. I bought mine last year from them and paid $300. :thud:

Exactly I paid $400 for my used Simmins 42's and a week after I recieved them I see a add for FMS 42's for $299. Happens everytime to me. lol

I don't know why the price changes so much, but I remember years ago they used to be cheap as hell, then when I looked $300 was a steal since most places wanted $340, and now Diversified only wants $260. I say buy them while they are cheap, maybe they will be $400 in the summer. :p

I'd like to have a nice tune. Not too fat, not too lean, just right :)

I would have to agree with everyone else. I jumped to the 42's this past spring....I would have went with the 36 or 38 lb injectors, however I only paid 259.00 shipped for the 42lbers and couldnt touch the lower sized injectors for that. AT least I have room to grow now!

Just for reference I had 24's with 6lbs of boost and an FMU and it was fine.

I am guessing it made about 420rwhp( have have a good idea that it did ) and had a great a/f .
