Tranny Leak?

I noticed last time i was under my car, that there was a drop of tranny fluid hanging from the end of the housing by the yoke. Its a T3650 with 9k on it. Is my seal leaking or is this normal? maybe only once every 3 months, i'll find one drop on the floor. How much can i be loosing? What's the symptoms of low fluid in the tranny? Everything seems fine I doubt Ford will warrantly anything on my car, so how hard is it to change a tailshaft seal? When i did my fluid change a year ago, i put in 3.5-3.6, since everyone says the manual say 4qts, but that's too much.

Your not losing a whole bunch it sounds like. Changing the seal is really just a matter of dropping the driveshaft, prying out the old one and putting in the new one. With 9K only on the trans it would make me suspect something caused the seal to fail. Something like a u-joint getting bad, hard launches, or driveshaft out of balance and so on. Have you noticed any extra vibration in the stick? I am not suggest you do have a problem that made the seal go bad, but it is something to think about while you are under the car putting in a new tailshaft seal.
