I need to make a decision. My 4.10s have been sittin in my room for almost a month b/c i dont know if i should get a tuner or chip. I know the tuner would be better, but the chip is cheaper and will allow me to get my gears in sooner. Or do i have anyother options. The only thing i really need it for is to recal my speedo after the gears go in. BTW its an auto

I have a chip but if I was going to do it again I would get the tuner. Check out modularpowerhouse.com. There prices are reasonable and youll get an awesome tune.

Bob Kurgan is an SCT dealer & tuner.

You can contact him if you have any questions.
He was our tuner at the Dyno Day.

I think the flash tuner route is the best way to go, much more versatile.

You can now preorder the SCT Xcalibrator 2 from some shops.

Its all a matter of personal preference - do you want to be able to make adjustments to the tune?

If you don't plan on modding anymore than a chip is probably good, but who actually ever stops modding their car!?

I couldn't agree more! We just had a big discussion about this.

Have him send us a check for Dan's promotional efforts too... We've mentioned this before but Danno makes his own rules I guess...

Dan, I made a comment about your suggestion. Your original response was already e-mailed to everyone who is subscribed to this thread anyway, so why bother with the editing? Do YOU have an SCT tuner? Do YOU have a chip? I didn't think they made them for CARB CARS. :hehe:

You are not "suggesting" something based on your own use/experiences, you are advertising for your sponsor per your signature. Don't twist things around please.

either will be fine... a flasher will leave no physical marks if you need to bring the car in for warranty service but is slow in loading... a switch chip is instantaneous and cheaper..
