Another valve question.

As most of you guys know I just got my heads put on. When adjusting the rockers I put a socket on the crank pulley and turned the motor over. As each pushrod dropped to let the valve close, I tightened each rocker until I could just barely move the pushrod around with my fingers. Well, I went through to double check each one and it felt like all the pushrods were alot looser so I went through and tightened them a bit again.
Do the lifters fill up with oil when the motor is started? Am I just pushing the oil out of the lifters? I guess I've never really understood how they work. If thats the case and they do fill up with oil, could I have the rockers adjusted too tight being that I went through and tightened them again?
I'm learning here and dont want to screw anything up after all this work :thumbs_up

They are 1.6 roller tip stud mount rockers by the way...

if that makes a difference?

I did start the car up today for about ten seconds...everything sounded great.

I like to put a little bit of oil in my lifters when i first put them into the motor. But they do fill up after a few minutes of the engine running.
