I spent the day yesterday at Paul's High Performance (http://www.paulshp.com), in Jackson, Michigan, and had a chance to learn a ton of good info from the premier 4.6 tuner in the USA, Paul Svinicki. Paul's modular cars are legendary, and Paul works closely with Ford on many projects, and he gets to see things we don't see, often years before they are made available to the public.

One of the things Paul can do for your modular car, is use the SCT software in conjunction with his dynojet software, to "reflash" your EEC without touching the actual box or breaking any seals. There have been updates to the SCT interface in the last week or so that Paul has obtained and my Mach was used for testing same. :D

Here's some of the things Paul can do for your modular:

Remap the fuel and timing curves- no need for a chip or a "timing adjuster" as he optimizes these tables on the dyno relative to your combo. If you add a new mod or change something, simply go back for another re-flash.
this is not a CHIP, it's your EEC!)

Traction Control
Paul can simply disable it without any adapters or wiring alterations. It can be switched back on no problem. No more forgetting to dis-able it in the lanes at the dragstrip (or any other place you might "play" :hehe:

Rear 02 sensors
Paul can turn off the whole circuit (off road use only ;) )
so you do not need to waste your money on MIL eliminators that may or may not cure your "check engine" light if you go to an off-road h-pipe or live where there are no emissions testing. The car will respond to your exhaust changes and make your SOP meter go off the scale. :)

Shift and timing retard
Like Fords from past years, there IS a timing retard built in to try to save the manual transmission from breaking on powershifts. Paul can remove this function for drag racers.

Speedo re-cal This has been around a long time, but just FYI- if you change rear gears you must have your speedo recalibrated for the change. This is a 2-minute operation.

Rev Limiter Another thing that has been around a long time, but once again FYI, your rev limiter can be raised if you have gone to a aftermarket shortblock or done other things to your modular to make it able to rev higher.

While Paul's is a long haul from Wisconsin, it's only an hour and a half from Chicago. If you have a modular Mustang and want to get the most from your combo, give Paul's a shot, you won't regret it! Paul and his wife Ronda are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, the shop is so clean, it's more like a indoor showroom than a shop. Jeff and Carl and the other guys are cool as hell and they are very helpful and work very carefully. We are proud to have them as a site sponsor and it is worth the drive just to check the place out and watch Paul work! :thumbs_up

How much would something like all of that cost? Will it void warranty?

Cost to you would be around $400.00

I nearly ran 12's on radial tires today BTW.
