Hi Gang,
The front end of 03 Pony sure likes to collect bugs, and I am trying to figure out the best (and easiest, if there is such a thing) way to get them off so I can do a nice wax job. What do you all use for bug remover? I've tried a couple of different brands, but I'm not crazy about how either of them work, so I'm sort of taking a "straw poll" of the group here. Let's here it!!
Thanks,
Joe

Doesnt the dish soap remove all the wax on the car too?
I use a bug remover in a small yellow can. I cant remember the brand name of it, but it works great for me.

I add a very small amount and I haven't noticed the wax getting removed any quicker than it nomally does. At least I am not waxing the car any more than I usually do.

Simple Green takes them off nicely. Just spray on, let it soak a little while, spray off. Not all will come off, but then during the normal wash, the rest will come off easily. (I wash the front last).
Don't care if it strips the wax, probably does, I polish & wax almost every wash anyways.

Damn, For as much as I washed my car while i was home (3 times a week, sometimes more) that would be a LOT of work.
Not that I mind it, my car is worth any time spent on it.

I found the key is to keep it clean, not wash constantly. As my car sits right now, it's just about as clean as when I took it to the EAA show. Keep the dust off, not driving in rain(what rain?) and just make sure I don't get it dirty really helps.
Not worth washing it every week if I can keep it clean!
Oh, and on-topic, the yellow can of tar & bug remover is good too, for in-between washes.

Well in the month i was home last summer, i put like 6,000 miles on my car. So it needed to be washed often :thumbs_up
