Markstang, BBATCO, Mr. Bandt, Mr. Kurgan, and all those who I haven't mentioned that have gone single digits with stock suspension I need some input. I'm putting my new car together and will be doing the rear suspension soon. My last car I used all Wolfe Racecraft parts and the car works. The car 60 foots 1.34 consistently. My question is should I go with Wolfe Racecraft again because their stuff works? Is there better? I know I can't go wrong by using the same set up again but if there is something to gain with another product I'd like to use it. I have looked at Team Z, UPR, etc. I really like the double anti roll bar that Wolfe Racecraft makes and I need offset control arms like they make. I'm looking for some opinions based on personal experience and prefferably not sposor induced feedback.
Thanks in advance!

well then I would have to say Metz Performance all the way...... :D
to be honest I have a little something from everybody. TRZ dbl adj uppers & heavy duty anti roll, metz dbl adj lowers, wolf adj spring perch. & qa1 single adj shocks. & you have to do some sort of torque box work as you know & I have TRZ & Wild rides torque box stuff. my car is true stock suspension, unlike some cars that say they are & have coilovers.......

Bob, does UPR make offset lower control arms like Wolfe does? I need them for tire clearance. I'm cheating and running coil overs so I guess technically it won't be completely stock suspension anymore.

I know Metz makes offset lowers....... do you plan on running a 8.8 or 9" rear end?

Mark, does Metz have pricing online or anything? I'm gonna need some double adjustable uppers and adjustable lowers with spring perches sometime.
no he dosen't have a web page at this time. you would need to call & ask. if cost is the main facter in the buy, somebody who makes a lot of them should be cheeper than a shop that olny sells 10 pair a year. alot of the cost is the heim ends & metz uses the good quality chromolly ends & tubing. they have a credit card machine, but need to get a web page going. :burnout:

I will be running an 8.8 until I need to step up to a 9". The reason I am doing that is I put a 9" in my last car and I feel it didn't need it. A set up 9" with drag brakes and an aluminum center section weighs 2 pounds heavier than an 8.8 with factory drum brakes and all of the control arms bolted to it. I want this car to be as light as possible. I have to give Metz a call when I get to the rear end because I need to shorten it a few inches on each side.
Thanks for your input Mark.

you are right, stick with a 8.8....... we should talk. I'm just starting to build a 9" & plan on getting rid of my 8.8. it was built with all light weight mark williams 35 spline gun drilled axels & spool with a shot peened 4.56 gear. it is narrowed by apx 1/2 each side & is set up with coilover brackets from strange. I have a billet main cap & a good rear cover with the studs in it & light weight aero space brakes.heck I'm even thinking about selling my rear coilovers now that we got my car figured out with stock location spring & shock.

I'll have to do some measuring Mark. I am not sure 1/2" on each side will work for me. I plan on running a 29.5x10.5 tire. PM me your number and I'll get in touch with you maybe this weekend.

ok, I never had a 29" slick on my car so I couldn't tell ya. I would think you'll have to have the ride hight up a little for the 29's.....

ok guys I love reading all this stuff about suspension but I really have no idea how to apply it or how this affects the car depending on what you have. Is there anything I can get to learn this, any reading material? I am still quite young in this hobby and have just recently got to really understand engines. Any info in the suspension area would be just awesome to learn. Thanks

Hey Brotha Darrell....I'm a little late to the party here. I haven't bought any new suspension components in a while so i'm not aware of the latest and greatest designs by UPR, Wolfe, and most of the other name brand companies. As you are well aware, my last setup was Wolfe and i was able to go a best of 1.26 in 60 feet using their stuff. Yes, it is expensive but it works. As far as UPR goes, they have their stuff on plenty of fast cars....Kurgan's for instance......so it's obviously worth looking at. They also sponsor a lot of Mustang racers and i always like to support the companies that support the racers. The only bad thing i've heard about them was their sway bars with the aluminum ends....I'd stay away from them in a high HP application. As far as Team Z's stuff goes, I was down at Dave's for the camshaft seminar they did last Easte and got to see his rear supension package. I was pretty impressed with it. More specifically, i liked the control arm mounts with multiple holes in them which allows instant center adjustment.
I'll give you a call some time soon to chat.....

Yep, late to the party. You better have a good excuse........
I've decided on the Team Z kit after seeing it and talking with Dave Zimmerman about it. His generousity in the recent chain of events has become a deciding factor as well.
Please do give me a call. I'd like to see how things are going.

I found Dave at Team Z to be a very helpful guy, and I really liked the lower control arms and the anti-roll bar I purchased from him.............

I got a set of Team Z offset lowers to try out when I have time. they look awsome & are not real heavy in weight like some lowers are.
