I have an opportunity to pick up a Mark VIII core motor, but I was wondering if this engine uses the same internals as a Cobra. It is out of a '98. Also, can I bolt PI heads to this block? Thank you.

YOu have no use for that motor - It will only work with a nitrous/4v/C4 car!!! I'll take it off your hands!
Yes you can use it Todd...

The physical block is the same. The crank was a 6 bolt cast crank vs. the cobra 8 bolt forged crank. The heads are the same casting, the cams how every are different. The intake is not nearly as good as the cobra either.

I picked up the engine this weekend. One of the timing chains broke and bent the valves in one of the heads. It wasn't taken car of either, sludge EVERYWHERE, especially on the top end. How often should I change my oil... every 10-15,000 miles right?

Yeah, w/ it being an aluminum block, the weight savings alone would be worth it. He wants rebuild it and bolt his pi heads to it. I'd like to talk to you about doing the swap w/ the 4v heads though.
