Almost every Mustanger out there mods there ride with a CAI. Which ones do you guys use? I also hear the stock intake is just as good and not to waste the money on aftermarket ones. I bought a MAC CAI that has the elbow into the fender. I ran like that all of last year. Over winter i bought a 80mm Pro-M maf with their conical filter. I had to ditch the fender elbow with the new maf/filter. My current set up is the MAC tube off the TB to the maf with the filter attached, so the filter is in the engine compartment now with no heat shield. Did i go in the wrong direction? I wish i owned a digital camera to take a pic, but i'd like to see pics of your guy's CAI's

Well I run a AFM power pipe. That is really the only good one out there because it places you MAF and filter in the fender well for a cooler denser intake charge. Plus they come creamic coated so they resist heat better than the crappy chrome. IMO

Well, on the Cobra I too run an AFM powerpipe, and I feed it with a March Ram Air scoop.
On the Mach, which is a 4.6 like your car Steven, I run the PHP airbox.

I have my pipe wraped with a heat reisitent tape. Should i go back to the in-fender style, but that means i can't use my Pro-M set up that I spent over $300 on

The filter bolts directly into the meter and with the filter being 6"dia. and 6" long and 5.5" wide. Or if you include the meter+filter it's like 9"-10" long; it doesn't fit into the fender. I would need to fabericate something. If i see you this Saturday Greg, i'll show you my set up so you can give me some ideas.

Let's keep our fingers crossed. I'll hopefully get there around 5:00 at the latest. Me and my girl are going to her cousins first communion and after that her sister's sweet 16 B-day, fun :thud: So i'm skipping out of the b-day after an hour and headng to the track.
Hey Joel! Can you stop by my place and snap a digi pic of my set-up so you can post it here for me??? please :D

I like the idea of just fabbing a box to keep out the under hood heat and fan back wash

Ok, I got creative yesterday and went to Menards to pick up a piece of sheet metal (aluminum) I spent over an hour fabing up some sort of heat shield. I was dripping, that humidity was like 160% last night! Well, my hobo fabrication skills aren't the best, but i do have a heat shield box that on the prop rod bolt holds down and some double sided tape. I let you guys that i see Saturday @ GLD laugh at it, but hope it works. :D

One of the pics are of my engine, now imagine a piece of metal with sharp ass edges wrapped around the filter.
