well i finally got started on some of my winter projects.
last night i got started by making a really half assed template for my plexiglass shield for my cold air intake. i also found that the plexiglass that i bought to use isn't as thick as i would have liked, so i'm going to have to get some thicker stuff. i'm going to try to get a hold of the tech ed teacher over at the middle school (i almost bought his chrome yellow 98 gt when i was in high school) and see if he can get a hold of some for me and use this heating table to make the bend for me so that i can keep it as a one piece deal.
today, i started with deciding not to instal the headers i have on my car, because the egr tube comes out of the headers a a bit of a different angle than stock, so to make it work, i have a feeling would have been a real pain in the ass... much more than it would be worth in my opinion.
so instead, i decided that i was going to install my transmission cooler. believe it or not, i actually would have had the whole thing installed today had i not ran into a couple of snags. the first snag i ran into was that the barb wouldn't thread onto the transmission return line, because they wouldn't reach. well i figured that i would just skip the barb and just put the hose right onto the line and clamp it twice. however, i ran into another snag. i thought my dad had extra hose laying around the shop, but apparently he doesn't so i ended up leaving the thing half done and just pushing it back into storage.
so tomorrow, i need to head to the parts house to get some hose and some extra transmission fluid because i also forgot that i would need some extra now that i increased the capacity a little bit.
before i forget, thanks to my dad for letting me use the hoist and all his tools even though i couldn't always find what i needed, and jamie and cj for their moral support. :)
