If ever can save money i would like to get some long tube Hooker Headers for my `03. I was wondering though, with long tubes, will they cook my starter? I know they make a high-temp starter to stand up to the heat, but i don't want to buy a new starter. Also should i pay the extra $110 for ceramic coated headers, or should i just get the header tape and wrap it the best i can?

Don't wrap them. You can build up condensation(sp) pay the extra $$ to get ceramic. You will be glad later on while they will still look new and cool very fast.

Either way you look at it. You should have no problems with the starter getting too hot.

That's good, plus i can sell my current Bassani catted X-pipe for up to $300 to make some of that money back. But installing headers on the mod motors isn't a walk in the park. Any tips on how to?

As long as the headers are not to close to the starter there should be no problem but like Larry said pay the extra to get em coated.

Headers don't kill starters...people kill starters....I mean wait, isn't that guns?

BBK LTs on my '01 for a year and a half now and still have my factory starter so I would have to say NO.
