View Full Version : Annoying sounds!

I can hear the dreaded squeeking sound when the windows are down and I drive next to something to bounce the sound back. ( passenger side ) I am figuring this is a break issue, either pads or slightly warped rotors.

Now, however, I am getting a different sound from ( I think ) the front driver side wheel. It is almost a clicking sound that speeds up/ slows down with the wheel spin. I am thinking wheel bearing and will get the wheel off and check later. My question is this, do I just pop the cap off and grease or replace the bearing in there, or is there something else I need to check.

Also, If I am on the wrong track and should check something else, please let me know. Thanks guys.

We repacked my front wheel bearings when we did the front brakes.

It is easy especially with everything off on the front. In your case you will want to inspect them carefully.

Wayne,

If you want some help, just give a call or stop over. I will probably be around the house all day.

I guess you won't know 'till you get into it. I would jack up the car and spin the wheels by hand to see if you can tell what/where the noise is coming from. I have new sets of bearings and brake pads if you need them.

Wayne, I'll let you have them for $20. Just give me a call in the morning.

I have the bearing out now and it doesn't look bad so I will grease them up and put 'em back and check over the brakes. I'll let you know if I need anything Fritz, thanks!

Did you pull the inner bearing and grease that one to?

I think you should give up and give the car to me!
