on a single plate system under the carb,
what jet should be twords the front of the car. gas or nitrous... some kits say the fuel jet should be in front, because the fuel is at low pressure. if it was in back of the plate, it would have to overcome the force of the car moving forword on the launch. the nitrous is under high pressure & can overcome the force much better.
I was told that a few years ago when I got a kit from Edelbrock. now I have a nitrous pro flow plate system & they said it dosen't matter, I think I makes sense to put the fuel jet in front. thats how I have it.
what do you think?

I've seen them both ways. I don't think it really matters. The fuel in the line still has to overcome the g-forces regardless of which side of the plate it comes out. As quickly as the charge is drawn into the intake...that's another factor that really is moot. Granted, if it was discharging and then shooting 2-3 feet the velocity of the car vs the changing directional velocity of the fluid might come into play. But once again, i don't think it's an issue. The only advantage i see to mounting the fuel in back is reducing the length of the fuel line. That would reduce the column of fuel that the g-forces act upon and slightly reduce the amount of frictional loss in the line. But again, i doubt that would even have a measurable effect on the system.
So to sum it up.....I agree with Wilson and you! LOL!

My proflow plate has the fuel in the back. But we sure know you have more g-forces than me!

I put the fuel in the front, so well have to compare.... my carb looks like its 1 1/2' above the block with the thicker plate, hope I can see around it once my front wheels hit the track from the launch

Man....that intake must have some damn short runners! :D

He said 1 1/2' not 1 1/2" So they look way long....

I got mine from holcomb motorsports they are in every mmandff mag. I have heard good about the gemini twin on a ford also, But I love the wilson stuff....

I just called Wilson/Nitrousproflow direct..... I got the whole kit so I don't know what the plate cost just by its self.

DOH! I was trying to be a smartass but turned into a dumbass! :D In all honesty....that sounds very similar to my setup. My 6" cowl is necessary....not just for looks. I've got less than 1" of clearance from my carb to the cowl.
Dan.....go over to the NMRA site and talk to Joe Shober....DR#7. He's a Wilson dealer. Tell him i sent you.

Mu single stage plate was $260 from holcomb for just the plate. That is very reasonable considering the headgaskets it has saved me......

I upgraded a NOS big shot all I changed is the plate I got $75 on ebay for the old one. So all in all $185 to go faster safer with less nitrous...(made more power with a 65jet on the proflow than a 73 with the bigshot about 1.5 tenths and a mile an hour)

I see this stuff all the time and am curious if the fuel and nitrous pressures were the same on both plates......

For me yes it was. The wilson hit harder also 1.48 60 foot to 1.41 with the proflow. I always run 950to1000 psi on the N2O(bottle heater and a 2 5/8 gauge).

If you're starting out from scratch the burst panel is the way to go. I've had 2 backfires that have destroyed my throttle blades. Ever see a "U" shaped blade? Damn thing won't idle a bit after that happens......LOL!

no burst panel for me. It would have been to much with my 2" carb spacer.
I just got a single stage plate with the noids, its a nice clean setup all ready wired up with a big weatherpac plug. it also came with the purge noid on the plate system all wired into the plug.
I went with proflow because my other plate systems always ran lean on the #1 & #5, I haven't tryed the proflow yet, so I don't know how it will work.

one time I had a backfire & it blew a booster off the carb, I couldn't find the booster anywear untill my buddy saw it sticking to the underside of the fiberglass hood. we called it a day after that.

I had a backfire once, then I put the plate on right side up......That was a jackass mistake......
