Aside from the loose nut between the steering wheel and the seat I got a problem. As your sitting in the seat the top right corner sags compaired to the left. If you push back the left side is solid but the right sags back like the seat frame just twists as if it has no support. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

All four bolts are tight?

It's just the back rest portion of the seat that has the problem. It's like that side of the seat frame has no support.

i think i remember reading something about how to fix it you have to re-weld the metal supports under the cushioning and fabric, but i dont know if that's what is wrong with yours, but it might be worth looking into.

Piece of cake to do. You take the seat out, take the side covers off, unbolt the seat back from the base, unzip (?) the cover, stick your hand in there to release the headrest then pull the cover off. You'll see the shells have seperated in spots. If you don't have a welder just bolt it back together with lock nuts or lock washers. You might need to drill some holes but I doubt it. Make sure you bend everything back into postion first before you bolt or weld it together.

The Ford service CD has good instructions for taking the seat out and taking it apart so I'm going to do it tonight. The only thing they don't say is how to release the head rest. I assume that it's one of those where you stick a thin item like a hack saw blade down the side with the slot to release a catch. Have to see how that goes.

If you need anything let me know.

I have to finish up the second O2 sensor tonight.

Was that the problem a while back that was turning on the light on the 5.0?

One of the codes pointed to bad O2's. Well they are 12 yr original so we are changing them. 12 yrs of stuck too. Thank goodness for a torch to heat em up to loosen them.

My luck there is still something else going on.

Glad I'll be working on interior parts, as we found out on the LCA's even 4 years of stuck can suck. :D

Drivers seat all fixed. Every one of the welds had broken accross the bottom beam of the seat back frame. There were 7 of those pinch welds so I drilled through each and put in a 1/4" bolt with washers on each side and lock nuts. What a huge difference, the seat back is good and solid now. I took pic of the seat frame all bolted up that I'll post later. I bet that would have cost a few bucks at a dealer and not the $3 and change for the bolts and about 2 hours work.

Way to go Tim.

We finally beat the last O2 sensor (barely) & no more light.
