Default Taxes. Wow.

Im 27 years old. And boy am i pissed off.

Maybe it's because i just toke a few seconds to really figure out how much of my check is taken out for taxes. and just like most everone else, i got boned. and boned hard. No KY or even a reach around

31.2% of my check gone because of all taxes combined. POOF. And thats with two federal exemptions and one state exemption, which according to the nifty government sheet i filled out in two seconds says im suppose to have. I have no kids and am not married but engaged.

Then i started thinking every time i buy anything, that's taxed.

So maybe im off, but it sure seems like almost 40-50% of the money i earn goes towards taxes.

So the moral of the story is i don't think taxing us more will fix anything, since i literally wont have money left to BUY anything or put a roof over my head.

/End Rant.

welcome to life. With a house it works out to be a little better. get married it helps "a little". Really want to get depressed how much of the rest of your check goes to interest.

This time of year, I just listen to what my accountant says when I piss and moan about how much we pay in taxes...

"Greg, be glad you're paying taxes, it means you made money!"

I guess I just look at this way- We're doing well and yea, it hurts to see those figures, but it is what it is. It would be easier to take if there wasn't so much waste and bureaucracy. I know a lot of people are hurting, so I'll just shut up and pay my taxes and be happy.

We easily pay more in taxes a year than I used to make in income in a year.

Just because there is someone in a worse situation doesn't make my pay check getting raped OK. Its just my opinion and not attacking anyone, but it's that kind of attitude that leads to our pay checks being stolen more and more, which in turn leads to less cash on hand, which in turn leads to less spending money which leads to poor business results which leads to lay offs. shiit rolls down hill, and more and more there are less people on the top of the hill, but they are shitting at the fastest rate in history.

In no way am i incinuating taxes CAUSED our economic situation, im just saying they sure ain't helpin us recover.

Again just my two cents.

You also have to realize, we are 3 trillion dollars in debt as a country. Gotta get the money somewhere.

My accounting buddies gave me the speech on how we need to be in small, manageable debt, BUT not anywhere near that much in debt.

I do.

But this was more of a rant than anything, not intended to become political.

I should know better than to reply to these topics... When I spoke up about this last year I had Chef John lecturing me about being greedy...
