Well put. Hopefully the next voting people will stand up and oust most and turn this country around!!!!

Lost another business up here in the little north. 44 people in a tiny economy up here.... This country is going down the tubes. Impeachment should be coming up soon.

Maybe if we go back to old england times when the monarchy was overthrown and the parliament ruled for a couples years when only those with land and some money could vote. idk why i picked this random time haha

then we dont have shontay and jerrel voting for "change" and "hope"

now im not hating on obama but more or less on these people who didn't even know who was Obamas running mate or any of his political platforms and contribute NOTHING to society but only TAKE

since most taxes come from those with actual money...middle class--- upper class...why can't they have more say what happens with their money?

this was a horrible rant but feel free to flame against it!

Missed that before, the problems with the republicans is they just keep borrowing. The national debt is a serious problem and getting worse. Please educate yourself to that, currently social security is paying out more than it brings in. Fun page http://www.usdebtclock.org/index.html

Scroll down to the bottom if you want to see your true share. You think we're really going to get lower taxes. LOL.

Ummmm, half of the last fiscal year deficit was brought to you by the Bush administration in the form of TARP but that wasn't really what I was getting at.

What I was meaning but hadden't my coffee yet is that it's simplistic to think that in the future either party will provide lower taxes. Here's my logic and the political logic of the day:

A: Since congress has no term limits and some good perks most of the reps want to stay in power and will do what it takes to stay there. One sure way to do that is not to annoy the voters.

B: The US has an aging poplulation with a large number of retirees and soon to be retirees, say 55+ years of age.

C: The above group B of 55+ can be counted to vote where as younger folk do not vote as often. Hence they make up the majority of voters.

So going by the above statements here how I see the trap we're in. Political logic says the retirees and soon to be retirees will boot from office those that mess with their benefits. So social security and medicare will not see any big cuts. These programs are now or soon will be depending on who's math you look at, cost more than they take in. (Up until last year social security was a revenue stream not a liability).

What I see happening is they will increase payroll taxes to cover the short fall and raise the cap from the current $106K or so level at which they are charged. Probably have some rebate system on the 55+ people (in the same way those people get catch up provisions so they can put more in to 401K and IRA's tax free. See what happens our group from B isn't dinged or dinged badly because of C and the rest of us the younger people who vote less get taxed more. Also of course the "rich" pay more even though they'll never see the benefits. I see this happening because the Obama plan of taxing the "rich" won't work, aside from the inequity, mathematically there aren't enough of them to make up the short fall. Even less because they may go Galt.

I see something like this coming and it doesn't matter who's in power. There aren't enough other programs to cut to make up for the shortfalls.

But they keep saying things are getting better?? HHHmm I just laid off 2 guys since things continue to slow down. The one thing I do know that is doing good is restaurant's. Ever try to get something to eat almost any day of the week? I guess when on unemployment might as well do something, why not eat? Just kidding but it is very spotty out there as far as which business is doing good and which are not.

Let me rephrase my statement.

"If you want to do something about it, run for office"

Democrat or republican, all our politicians suck and are looking out for themselves and their pet projects before the well being of the rest of our nation.

Really so bush did obamas bailouts? And this is obama asking for this amount sir. Quit blaming bush obama has made huge mistakes(possibly worst ever) in policy. People are just finally noticing. Hey were going green though: which means I have more time to sit at home and make my lawn green(loss of job).
