before you start bashing me, i was asked by my boy to ask this so dont shoot the messenger. he wants to rally his 02 3.8 stang. i admire him for thinking outside the box of dragging but i also know that for him to do that will require ALOT of stuff. what would need to be done to his car should he pursue rallying his car? im not 100% sure to be honest that a mustang would be the best choice for a rally car but i have been wrong on many occasions. thanks for the help.

I agree with you, a Mustang isn't the best choice for a rally car. Lightweight FWD or AWD seems to be a better choice.

There are rally Mustangs...................the real question is how deep are your pockets ???? ......... it's not a cheap date.

If I were going to do it I'd buy an older V-8 & use it for a rally car.

I've seen a few people who rally SN-95 cars.

There was a feature article on a rally mustang quite a while back in "5.0 Mustang and Super Fords" I believe it was a '94 or '95 5.0

Was that the same issue that came with the drifting article, too? I remember that they took out the 94 or 95 gt for drifting, as well, so it can be done...but a 3.8...It's heavy and doesn't have much power when you compare it to some of those rally cars.

I don't know for sure. I don't remember a 94 or 95 gt drifting.
