Disaster at GLD!!!

Oh man.... what a freeking mess!!

Longtime racers know we have always had flooding problems at GLD when there's heavy rains. This is much worse. Some BEAVERS have built a DAM on the river behind GLD!! The result is a total disaster. The entire property is flooded now. The water has nowhere to go. What's worse is.....

The Beaver Dam cannot be disturbed per the DNR!!!!

We cannot open up again for what might be quite awhile.

What a f-ing BUMMER!!!!!!

I'll reserve my opinions on the Wisconsin DNR...

Hope you get it opened back up soon.

thats not good at all, i was hoping to rip the notch down it soon, do you think it will open at all then this summer?

Yes, we just don't know how long it will take for all this water to receed. One thing that is good it that the water table was so low from the drought last summer, and perhaps once this wet weather clears up, the ground will soak up a lot of the water. It could be only a week, or so, or it could be a month. The track is under water right now. The place looks like a giant lake.

Oh yea.... On another note... The river in Saukville is WAY out of its banks. So far the shop is fine, we're pretty far from the river, but the main route across the river (Highway 33) is getting close to being flooded out. Only way to get to the shop would be about a 10 mile detour. Yikes...
